  • Do I need previous experience working with oncology clients to take this course?

    No prior oncology experience is required! This course is designed for massage therapists of all backgrounds who want to build confidence, safety skills, and a deeper understanding of working with clients affected by cancer.

  • How long will the online coursework take to complete?

    Most students complete the online modules in about 6-8 hours total. The course is self-paced, so you can move through the material at a speed that fits your schedule - but all modules and quizzes must be completed before the in-person training dates.

  • What if I can't attend the in-person training?

    Because hands-on practice is a critical part of oncology massage education, attendance at the full in-person training is required for certification. If an emergency arises, we will do our best to accommodate you at a future in-person session.

  • Who is this course for?

    This training is designed for Registered Massage Therapists looking to expand their skills and confidence in working with clients affected by cancer, including those in active treatment, recovery, or survivorship. All levels of experience are welcome.

  • Can I receive Continuing Education Credits?

    Yes! This course qualifies for continuing education credits with:

    • CMMOTA – 24 CECs
    • CRMTA – 20 Primary Credits
    • MTAA – 35 Primary PD Credits
    • NHPC – 15 CECs
    • ARMTA – 32 CECs

    This training is delivered by a Recognized Education Provider (REP) through the Society for Oncology Massage (S4OM). Graduates may apply to become an S4OM Preferred Practitioner upon course completion.
  • How is the online portion delivered?

    The online module is hosted through Thinkific. You’ll receive access upon registration, and it must be completed before attending the in-person training.

  • Where is the in-person training held?

    Our next in-person training will be held in Edmonton, Alberta. Future courses may also be offered in other locations, and new dates and venues will be announced after they are confirmed.   • Will I be able to work with oncology clients after this course?

    Yes — upon completion, you’ll be equipped with the knowledge, confidence, and ethical framework to begin integrating oncology massage into your practice responsibly.

  • What is the cost and what’s included?

  • Do I need to bring anything?

    At this time, all you need is yourself, a few basic massage supplies, and a willingness to learn and hold space with compassion. A full supplies list—including massage table and linens—will be emailed to you upon registration. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

  • How long do I have access to the online module?

    You’ll receive access shortly after registration and retain access for 3 months.
